It is our great pleasure to invite you to the first ITFHQ Europe Umpire Course. This course will be certified by ITFHQ-Korea and will be conducted by the ITFHQ European Umpire Committee, headed by Master S. Fitzgibbon, of Ireland.
The purpose of the Course is develop existing and potential umpires to International level. Depending on experience, grade & competence, participants will have the opportunity to get certified as one, or more, of the following (in line with ITFHQ-Korea rules and regulations):
- Sparring corner judge
- Sparring centre referee
- Patterns judge
Technical/Power breaking will be taught at a separate course, we aim to empower all participants, so they will feel confident exercising what they learn. It is not enough to know the rules. Umpires must have the confidence to apply them.
The location for this landmark occasion will be European Capital City of Culture 2020 – Galway, Ireland. Come and spend a weekend of learning, and sight-seeing in the fabulous West of Ireland city. See https://www.galwaytourism.ie/ for more about Galway, and what this wonderful city has to offer.

You can register your attendance at the same time as registering for the course, but payment won’t be collected until the Saturday afternoon.
Participants are free to stay in whichever Hotel or B&B they wish. However, we have arranged reduced rate accommodation in two nearby 4* hotels – Menlo Park Hotel and Maldron Hotel. Feel free to contact the hotels directly, and quote ITFHQ to receive the discounted rates for single/double rooms. The group meal will be held in the Menlo Park Hotel on Saturday evening.
